A large summit on the Pennine Way. Quite often in cloud. The path is much improved by anti erosion works. No trig at the summit although there is one at Higher Shelf Stones 621m, however I doubt this trig is within the activation zone.

 SK088929 - Parking off road at the summit of the Snake Pass 512m, be careful the cars don`t slow down for radio hams.
 From the parking place head north along the well-maintained, part-flagged path to the summit. The sign says Bleaklow Head 2 and a quarter miles. However my GPS clocked up 6 miles for the round trip. A fast pace can be maintained over the flagstones and the only tricky bit is following the stream up at the head of Hern Clough, where you have to cross the stream 7 or 8 times.
