Full Screen Map This is a pleasant summit in beautiful surroundings and is on the popular Sandstone Trail. It is a comfortable walk with some good views along the route and from the summit itself. There is room to erect HF antennas. Report 1 SJ520550 - There is parking for several vehicles at the end of Coppermines Lane, where the Sandstone Trail crosses the Lane. From the car parking area, take the trail to the left past the Sandstone trail notice board, Which shows some useful information. Follow the obvious path all the way to the summit. Don't be tempted to take the track on the left at SJ518552 approx 300 metres from the notice board as this leads to Raw Head Farm and is a dead end. Report 2 SJ520550 - Parking for at least for a dozen cars Route as described above. At the trig point there is also a bench. This is very busy trail. When I went there on cold and windy January midweek day I came across at least two dozen people along the trail and at the trig so would take caution if erecting any antenna that require guys etc. (M0KCB) |
