Full Screen Map

This is a summit with good take-off and plenty of room for HF antennas. The whole route up and the summit area is Access Land. A fence goes across the summit but it is Access Land on both sides. As with many of the mid Wales summits, you will be unlucky to see anyone else on your activation.

Report 1
SO02537060 - There is a rough lay-by on the bend in the road just past the bridle way entrance to the NRW woodland (if you are coming from the Abbeycwmhir direction). Room for two cars.
From the parking spot walk a few metres back to the bridleway gate leading into the forestry. Continue along this rutted track for 500m to a point where the footpath turns right. Take this footpath and when you reach the edge of the forestry turn left on a rutted track. This will take you all the way to the summit (just over 1km). Alternatively, when the footpath turns right continue along the track, bearing right at the junction, and you will eventually find yourself close to the footpath near to the summit. Leave the track about 150m from the summit and join the footpath on the right. The footpath route gives you good views of the open countryside, but it is rutted and requires good balance. The track route is easier of the knees but has no views. Both routes can be be quite muddy in winter.
