The Hillbagging web site has a report stating that the owner is happy for summiteers to go to the TP as long as they do so using the PRoWs and windfarm tracks. I was unable to confirm this as nobody was in at Elgar on my visit. However, the summit area is large with plenty of room for HF antennas. The wind turbines are noisy but otherwise not a problem. Report 1
SN 6598 8571 - Room for about 10 cars on concrete platform.
From the parking spot take the ProW along the track that heads roughly ENE. Eventually some farm buildings are reached. Take the track around these buildings and then head along the track that goes up the hill. At the top of a fairly steep pitch you will see a covered reservoir on the left. Take the track on your left and proceed for about 200m to the top of the hill. The TP is just beyond this and well inside the AZ. |
