The summit and its surrounding area are all on Access land. There was a sign for some restricted access days in May and June 2016 so this may be a early occurrence. Also there are several signs with the following notice "Dogs are not permitted on this access land”.

 NY 56188 49118 - Room for 3/4 cars before bridleway entrance gate.
 Go through bridleway gate follow to the start of the track at NY 57498 50465. This track will take you to the summit (shooting Hut will be visible on the left further up). Note that on the OS map another track starting before this one is shown and indicates it will join the track you want to be on further ahead. however this track has now disappeared.
