 From A682 follow the metalled track (SP Weather Station) to the parking area. Beware of roaming sheep on this single track road and please do not block the access gates. Go through the gate toward the masts and follow the track to SD 792 284 via SD 803 284 (can be very muddy). Take the right hand path, following the marker slabs, uphill to the Trig. Refreshments can be had in Crawshawbooth or in Burnley. Other ascents can be made from the Hapton or Mitchel House Res access road

 I combined this with the activation of the Hameldon Common Trig point at SD810287, which resulted in a good 8km walk.
