Full Screen Map A nice grassy summit with plenty of room. There are ancient tumuli on the summit so it is best avoid them. I gather it is a popular spot for hang-gliding in the summer. Do not confuse this with Wetton Hill on the map which is 500m SW and 20m lower. The HuMP summit is not named on my maps. Report 1 SK109554 - Park sensibly in the village of Wetton. From the village walk North up a metalled track to a covered reservoir. There is lots of room to park here but I didn`t as I was unsure of permission issues. At the end of the track you pass through a series of three stiles to enter access land. Follow the footpath for about 500m then veer right towards the summit. The 20m lower Wetton hill is on your left. There is a series of walled fields in the way so I walked round the left hand side of the dry stone walls towards the summit. Don`t walk through these fields as you would have to climb over a wall with wire fence to get to the summit. Car to summit took 20-25 mins. |
