Full Screen Map This summit, despite its modest 370m height, has a fantastic 360 degree view. There is also a topograph on the summit describing the view. The summit is National Trust land, but I`ve never seen a warden up there. It can be accessed in a matter of minutes from the lay-by on Eccles Lane to the south of the summit. There was a Royal Observer Corps bunker up there, but all that remains now is a slight depression in the ground. Report 1
SK035811 - There is room for one car or possibly two small ones
From parking spot go through the gate which has a seat next to it. Follow the very obvious path for approx 80m with only a height rise of 20-25m. There is no trig but plenty of rocky outcrops for shelter. Don't expect to be alone on this one. It seems to be the local spot for courting couples. |
